Coaches Code of Conduct

I hereby pledge to live up to my qualifications as a British gymnastics coach by following their Code of Ethics.

I will place the emotional and physical wellbeing of my gymnasts ahead of a personal desire to win or succeed.

I will treat each gymnast as an individual, respecting their rights, dignity and worth and their ultimate right to self determination.

I will treat all gymnasts fairly and equally within the context of the activity and ability regardless of gender, ethnic origin, cultural background, sexual orientation, religion or political affiliation.

I will endeavour to remember the large range of emotional and physical developments possible for the same age group.

I will give a clear commitment to the number of hours I can coach and minimise any possible conflict of my time.

I will inform the coach in charge in advance of any occasions when I am unable to coach.

I will do my best to provide a safe training situation for my gymnasts.

I will report all injuries or bad falls my gymnasts have both to the parent and the coach in charge and follow the recommended accident and emergency procedures.

I will adhere to the club's child protection and anti bullying policies.

I will seek advice from the coach in charge when I have concerns.

I will teach only to the level of my qualification or under the instruction of a higher level coach and will attend courses or clinics to update my knowledge as it is needed.
